Q1.

Can you ...?

A Almost anything is possible, provided there is:
  • sufficient quantity,
  • sufficient time,
  • and sufficient budget available.

Q2.

What is the minimum quantity?

A It varies. For most of our standard styles, fabrics and colours, the minimum quantity is 250 pieces. For most knitted items, the minimum is 500 pieces. For some items it is more. If a special fabric or colour is required, the minimum will be higher, sometimes much higher.

Q3.

How much will it cost?

A This depends on so many things. The 'bad old days' of a cheap cap with a one colour screen print ("never mind the quality, how much?") are almost gone. Certainly there are still occasions for this type of promotional cap: BIG quantity, low price, give-away, and we can help with this too but ... Now there are more styles, more fabrics, more accessories and more logo options than ever before.

Because of these many possibilities, we need as much information as possible from you, with your enquiry, so we can best answer your question,
"How much will it cost?"

For example:
Cap: What style, fabric, closure, colour, quantity?
Logo/s: Screen print, embroidery, other?
How big? How many colours?
For embroidery, it's not enough to give measurements only, we need to see the logo, usually a fax copy is sufficient for this purpose.
Positions?
When are the goods required to be shipped?
Any special requirements?

The more you can tell us right at the beginning, the more help we can be and the more smoothly the whole process should proceed.

Q4.

Do we have to supply the embroidery tapes?

A No. We can make these for you, provided you supply the correct artwork.

If you prefer, you may supply the tapes. They should be suitable for Tajima machines. It will help if you can also send a copy of the plotting diagram and an embroidery sample.

If you can only supply an embroidery disc, please be very careful when packing it: 'lock' the disc, wrap in foil (to protect from x-rays), then in bubble wrap, then in cardboard. The reason for this is that we occasionally receive discs that are 'blank' (cannot be read) due to trauma during transport. By the time this is replaced, a week or more is lost, time which many orders cannot afford.

Q5.

What artwork is required?

A Colour separated film positives, to size, for multi coloured logos, or bromides for single coloured logos. For colour reference, Pantone (PMS) numbers, or an accurate colour sample, for us to match as closely as possible.

Q6.

How long will it take to finish the order?

A This is probably the most difficult question of all to answer, honestly. It depends on a number of factors.

Generally speaking, for standard styles, fabrics and colours, we try to stay within the following schedule: Counter samples 2-3 weeks from receipt of your order and correct artwork, Production 4-6 weeks from approval and receipt of payment.

The actual times involved depend on the specifics of each order, the commitments already given by the factory and the time of year.

Q7.

What is the packaging?

A For most baseball type caps, we offer two standard packaging options.

For sea freight: 2 doz/inner, 12 doz/ctn, about 0.13 cbm/ctn, about 15 kgs/ctn

For air freight: 17 doz/ctn, no inner boxes only cardboard dividers, about 23 cubic kilos/ctn, about 19 actual kgs/ctn

Of course, we can also pack to your own specifications, usually at no extra cost.

Q8.

What colours does this fabric come in?

A Our stock fabrics come in many colours and these are usually available as a minimum of 120 dozen.

However, when special colours are requested, the minimums are usually very high, depending on the fabric involved and how accurate a match is required.

We do strongly recommend avoiding special colours, rarely does a client need the quantities involved and rarely can they wait the considerably extra time involved in getting the order to completion. However, special colours are possible.

Q9.

What about colour variations?

A Yes, you will get colour variations: between dye batches of standard fabrics and colours, between the approval lab dip for a special colour and the bulk dyed fabric and between a colour reference on one surface of fabric and the fabric actually required for the order.

This is a very important fact to understand and to have your client understand.

Q10.

Can you supply a GSP Form A or a Certificate of Origin, for China manufacture?

A Yes, to both. Just specify which your country requires.

Q11.

Can you supply special fabrics?

A The short answer is, yes.

However, it can take time to source the fabric (how long is impossible to say), it can involve large quantities, it will (almost always) be significantly more expensive than our standard fabrics.

Time is usually the biggest obstacle, followed by quantity.

Q12.

Can we have our own label inside the caps?

A Yes. You can supply it for us to sew in for you or we can produce it. If it is to be the only label and it is printed, we will usually be able to do this for you no charge, depending on the specifics. If it is a woven label, this will cost extra.
Colour separated artwork, to size, required.

Remember to consider your country's labelling requirements. Can you put your information (logo? company? phone/fax? - whatever) on the front and your country's requirements (fabric composition? made in China? etc. we always like to add: gentle hand wash only) on the back?
